The Argentine is the leading goalscorer in Clasico history, having netted 26 goals in 44 appearances against FC Barcelona's bitter rivals.
However, Messi has failed to find the back of the net in any his past four derbies against Real Madrid – a run that coincides with Ronaldo's departure from Los Blancos in 2018.
Messi has not netted in El Clasico ever since the Portugal captain left LaLiga, and his dry spell has also resulted in the Blaugrana winning just one of the abovementioned four fixtures, drawing one and losing the other two.
The 33-year-old has been in great form of late, though, scoring 16 goals and assisting another six strikes in his past 12 league appearances.
Overall, he has netted 23 times and set up a further 10 strikes in Spain's top flight this season, and has struck 29 times and assisted 13 goals across all competitions to date in this campaign.

Saturday's El Clasico could have a huge impact on this season's LaLiga title race as Barca and Real have cut their gap on leaders Atletico Madrid.
