Reports: Five Clubs In For David Alaba

Reports: Five Clubs In For David Alaba

With Bayern Munich's CEO recently all but confirming that David Alaba will leave the German giants at the end of the season, five clubs are said to be in the running to sign him, including Manchester United and Real Madrid.

In a recent interview, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge suggested that the Austrian is preparing to move on from the club after rejecting their contract extension offers.

The former Germany international said that Bayern did everything possible to convince Alaba to stay at the Bavarians, but despite this, the player will be free to negotiate with any potential suitors from January, when there will be only six months left on his deal.

According to the Daily Express, Premier League giants Manchester City and the Red Devils are chasing the 28-year-old's signature, with the versatile star seemingly set to leave the Allianz Arena as a free agent come the end of the season.

Frank Lampard's Chelsea are also believed to be interested in the Austria talisman as he aims to further strengthen his defence, with Emerson Palmieri and Marcos Alonso not appearing to be in his plans going forward.

Italian giants Juventus are also said to be looking at Alaba, as are Spanish champions Real, whom many feel stand the best chance of signing him ahead of the 2021/22 campaign.

Alaba has enjoyed a magnificent career since his arrival at Bayern in 2008, amassing 404 appearances for the club and winning an incredible 23 trophies to date.
