Result: Werder Bremen 1-4 Bayer Leverkusen
Date: 18 May 2020
Venue: Weser Stadium
Reported Liverpool target Kai Havertz bagged a brace to inspire Bayer Leverkusen to a 4-1 thrashing of Werder Bremen in Monday night's only Bundesliga clash.
The visitors handed a debut to Florian Wirtz who became the club's youngest ever player to play a league game at 17 years and 15 days and third youngest in league history.

After a quiet start to the half, the game sprung into life on 28 minutes when Havertz nodded home Moussa Diaby's cross to hand Leverkusen the lead.
The lead did not last long though as Bremen hit back two minutes later, with Theodor Gebre Selassie finding the back of the net with a header from close range.
The momentum shifted back to the visitors a minute after Bremen's equaliser, with Havertz bagging his second goal of the game to restore Leverkusen's lead 10 minutes before the break.
Leverkusen eventually put some daylight between themselves and Bremen just after the hour mark when Diaby turned provider once again to pick out Mitchell Weiser, who nodded past Jiri Pavlenka.
While all of Leverkusen's first three goals came via headers, the fourth was a bit more cheeky through Kerem Demirbay's neat chip over the Bremen shot-stopper with 12 minutes remaining.
That proved to be the final goal of the match as Leverkusen ran out convincing winners to move within a point of fourth-place RB Leipzig.
