Earlier this week, the record Moroccan champions bid farewell to Cassius Mailula after the 24-year-old confirmed he would not be continuing with the club for the 2025/26 season.
His loan spell in Casablanca officially came to an end in June, but he is not the only South African set to leave the club, with Lorch also returning to his parent club, Masandawana.
According to Le Site Info Sport, Wydad remain keen on securing the services of the Bloemfontein-born star, but are struggling to agree a fee with the Betway Premiership champions.
Unlike Mailula – whose loan deal reportedly included a €700 000 (R14.5 million) option to buy – Lorch’s temporary move did not contain a similar clause.
The three-time African champions are now looking to sign the 31-year-old permanently, but negotiations have proven increasingly difficult, particularly due to the attacker’s standout performances at the FIFA Club World Cup.
