Amid rumours linking Pitso Mosimane and Rulani Mokwena to the club’s head coaching position in recent months, Zamalek have now reportedly decided who their next manager will be.

For several months, the two South African tacticians have been touted as potential candidates for the White Knights’ vacant head coach role. The five-time continental champions have been without a permanent manager during the latter stages of this past campaign, after parting ways with Jose Peseiro.
The Portuguese coach suffered a shock defeat to Stellenbosch FC in the CAF Confederation Cup, and was dismissed shortly thereafter, with Ayman El Ramadi appointed as interim head coach.
El Ramadi went on to guide the team to success in the Egyptian Cup, but earlier this week, Zamalek confirmed that he would not be continuing in the role.
Since the vacancy opened, both Mosimane and Mokwena have been frequently mentioned as possible permanent replacements. However, the 38-year-old Mokwena recently ruled himself out of the running, stating he could never compete against his mentor, Mosimane.
The Kagiso-born coach, on the other hand, has been linked with the Cairo-based side since the beginning of the year, thanks to his exemplary record in Egyptian football.

According to WinWin, however, it appears the continental giants have decided to go in a different direction by appointing a European in Yannick Ferrera.
The Belgian tactician has previously managed top clubs in his homeland, including Standard Liege, and following his most recent spell with RWD Molenbeek, the 44-year-old is now reportedly set to take on his first challenge in African football.
