Al Ahly failed to register a victory at the Club World Cup following two draws against Inter Miami and FC Porto, and a defeat to Palmeiras, meaning the Red Devils finished bottom of the group.
Riveiro arrived at Al Ahly following his departure from Orlando Pirates, replacing Swiss coach Marcel Koller, and the Club World Cup was his first challenge as Red Giant boss.
According to Btolat, Galal revealed to MBC Masr that Riveiro could not be judged after the Club World Cup as the conditions of the competition were not easy to play.
"It’s very difficult to judge a coach like Riveiro based on a tournament as competitive as the Club World Cup," Galal said. "He faced top-tier teams, and his match management was quite good."
The club awarded the players a two-week break and, are expected to meet again in mid-July for pre-season training ahead of the 2025/26 season.
