The story
After a standout showing at the FIFA Club World Cup (CWC) for Wydad Casablanca, it was only right that Thembinkosi Lorch returned to the Moroccan outfit to write a second chapter at the club after a bright six-month loan last season.
Lorch, who was one of Wydad's only bright sparks in what was a dismal showing at the CWC for the Botola Pro 1 side, officially completed a permanent move to the Red Castle on Saturday and was unveiled with a creative video.
The Moroccan powerhouse has reportedly tied the Bafana Bafana international down to a two-year deal ahead of the new 2025/26 season, and his transfer was revealed in a boxing-inspired video.
The video shows Lorch arriving with his Louis Vuitton duffel bag into the change rooms, where he opens his locker to see two pictures of him in action at the CWC on the door.
He goes on to apply strapping on his hands in a similar style to a boxer, while he jumps up and down with his headphones in and his boxing gloves on.
The clip cuts to Lorch wearing what appears to be boxing shorts while he enters the ring, before it concludes with the ex-Orlando Pirates player saying, "I'm back."
Lorch's transfer reveal video from Wydad also included cuts from his bright moments at the CWC, which included a standout performance against Manchester City and a goal against Juventus.
