The Sky Blues suffered a 3-2 loss against Pharco FC to snap a 16-game unbeaten run in the league and reduce the gap to Al Ahly at the top of the table to just a single point.

The club's Deputy Sporting Director Moatassem Salem has reportedly questioned the league committee and whether there is an agenda to prevent the team from winning the league, according to FilGoal.

"The Pharco match was unlike any other," Salem said.

"From the start, ball boys and staff were wasting time. Balls were being hidden, and referees didn’t intervene to stop this farce. Staff and players were even saying to our players and coaching team: 'You’re not winning the league'," he continued.

The club official accused the league's committee of assigning an inexperienced referee to officiate a crucial league game.

"In a match this important, how can the referees' committee assign an official who isn’t up to the game's calibre?" he asked.

"Why wasn’t an international refereeing crew appointed for such a decisive encounter? Is it normal for the league leaders and title contenders to play without a competent international refereeing team?"

Salem boldly alleged that there are attempts and stop the CAF Champions League finalists from winning the league.

"All recent decisions are clearly targeting Pyramids in an attempt to stop us from winning the title," he said.

"But this bias will only make us more determined to win. We've faced worse, and we’ll push even harder in the coming period to be more prepared and focused on the pitch — ready to confront any kind of injustice aimed at preventing our success."
