New Wydad Athletic Club signing Stephane Aziz Ki could reportedly be on his way out of the club, despite only joining the Moroccan giants a month ago.

The Burkinabe midfielder had been on Wydad’s radar since the start of last season, when Rulani Mokwena first took charge of the club. They made another push to sign him during the mid-season transfer window, but a deal never materialised, and he went on to finish the 2024/25 campaign as a Young Africans player.
However, when FIFA opened the transfer window just before the FIFA Club World Cup, the North African side finally landed their target, officially announcing the 29-year-old as one of their acquisitions ahead of the global spectacle.
Despite being brought in as a marquee signing for Wydad’s clashes against Juventus, Manchester City, and Al Ain, Aziz Ki featured for just nine minutes across the three matches in the United States. According to reports, this is allegedly because head coach Mohamed Amine Benhachem does not rate the midfielder’s physical and technical abilities.
As per El Botola, this, combined with the uncertainty surrounding the length of his contract, could be why the club is already considering cutting ties with the player.

There have also been suggestions that Wydad’s desire to sign Thembinkosi Lorch on a permanent deal — along with the acquisitions of Guilherme Ferreira and Bart Meijers — may force the club to offload several players, with Aziz Ki possibly among them.
