The Democratic Republic of Congo international has been a revelation for the Egyptian giants since arriving ahead of the 2023/24 campaign. The 31-year-old has been scoring at close to a goal every other game for the North African outfit, having netted 39 goals and provided seven assists in 81 appearances across all competitions for the Cairo-based side.
This past season was particularly special, as he played a pivotal role in helping Pyramids FC win the CAF Champions League.
His strong performances on major stages have seemingly attracted considerable interest from outside Egypt. Rumours have suggested that he could be headed either to the oil-rich kingdom of Saudi Arabia with Al Fateh or to South Africa to reunite with his former head coach Nasreddine Nabi at Naturena.
However, despite the speculation linking him away from the June 30 Stadium, it appears the physically imposing marksman will not be departing the club anytime soon.
A source from the club informed Kooora that Mayele is expected to report for pre-season training and that the club is keen to offer him an extension.
"Mayele will join the team's training sessions, with the start of the pre-season period on July 8, and his future will be discussed if official offers for his departure are received,” the source said.

He continued: “We did not open the renewal file with Mayele until he arrived in Egypt and spoke with him about his future."
