After assisting Josef Zinnbauer at Raja Club Athletic last season—helping the Moroccan outfit become the country’s first-ever undefeated champions—Davids has now etched his name into the history books once more. This time, it's with Tanzanian giants Simba SC, who he has led to their first-ever Confederation Cup final.
The South African tactician navigated a challenging continental campaign, defeating the likes of Al Ahli Tripoli, CS Sfaxien, CS Constantine, Bravos do Maquis, El Masry, and Stellenbosch FC to reach the showpiece clash against Moroccan champions RS Berkane.
Simba follow in the footsteps of arch-rivals Young Africans, who reached the final of the same competition in the 2021/22 season. Now, in a bid to go one step further than their Dar es Salaam counterparts, the Tanzanian government has stepped in with critical support.
Tanzanian Minister for Information, Culture, Arts and Sports, Professor Palamagamba Kabudi, confirmed in parliament that the government, led by President Samia Suluhu Hassan, will provide a chartered flight for Simba’s journey to Morocco next week.

“After the great success of Simba and qualifying for their first-ever final of the Confederation Cup organised by CAF, Simba is going to Morocco to face RS Berkane and the Tanzanian government led by President Samia has decided to give out a plane that will take Simba to Morocco for that game,” said Kabudi.
