The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner is currently a free agent, and it remains to be seen where he will play his football from the 2025/26 campaign onwards. The 32-year-old was banned from football for an initial four years after testing positive for a banned substance, but following the intervention of the Court of Arbitration for Sport, the sentence was reduced to 18 months.
According to Le Site Info Sports, the two clubs that were seriously pushing for the deep-lying playmaker were Moroccan champions RS Berkane and Rulani Mokwena’s former side, Wydad Athletic Club.
Both clubs presumably have major ambitions heading into the new season, with the Orange Boys keen to maintain their domestic dominance, while the Red Castle aim to climb back to the summit of Moroccan football. However, it is understood that neither project appeals to Pogba, who is reportedly more interested in remaining in Europe.
The same report claims that his likeliest destination will be AS Monaco, likely because they are based in his native France and can offer UEFA Champions League football. Earlier in the year, clubs such as Olympique de Marseille publicly admitted to considering the acquisition of the former Manchester United and Juventus talisman, but ultimately decided against it.
