Despite Andries Ulderink recently being spotted at Cape Town City, it seems the Dutchman could be leaving the South African side for the Bundesliga in the near future.

Earlier this week, the 55-year-old made a surprise return to the Premier Soccer League, as photographs surfaced of him leading training ahead of the promotion/relegation play-offs against Casric Stars and Orbit College.
Ulderink has coached in the South African top flight before, having led Ajax Cape Town, and now he has returned to the Mother City as the club faces the possibility of demotion.
The Citizens have been without a manager since Muhsin Ertugral left the club in March and, while the Dutchman has seemingly taken charge of the team, it appears it will only be on an interim basis.
According to Dutch publication Voetbal Primeur, the reason Ulderink has taken the reins in the Western Cape temporarily is that he was fulfilling a promise made before he took charge of Royal Antwerp.
When Ertugral was appointed, it was suggested that once the 2024/25 campaign had concluded, the Turk would move into a technical director role while Ulderink would become the new head coach of the club.
However, during that time, the man from the Netherlands received the opportunity to lead the Belgian giants following the dismissal of Jonas De Roeck. The same report claims he is now looking to continue his European adventure — this time heading to the German top flight to work alongside Erik ten Hag at Bayer Leverkusen as an assistant manager.

It is understood that while he leads City in the immediate future, he will be negotiating the terms of his arrival at the BayArena as negotiations are ongoing.
