It was a close encounter against Esperance de Tunis this past weekend, but ultimately the Club of the Century was able to claim its record-extending 12th African title.
An early own goal from Roger Aholou gave the Egyptian outfit the platform to defend a slender 1-0 lead, and so they did as the Tunisian side, who had most of the possession during the tie, were unable to penetrate a stifling Ahly defence.
The Red Devils were guided to victory by their Swiss head coach Koller, who won his second successive continental crown.
He becomes only the third manager in the club's history to win back-to-back Champions League titles, joining Mosimane and Jose.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns manager was the last Ahly boss to win back-to-back CAFCL titles during the 2019/20 and 2020/21 seasons, when he defeated Zamalek and Kaizer Chiefs to etch his name into Ahly's history books.
The first to make such history, however, was Portuguese tactician Jose. During the 78-year-old's second spell in the Egyptian capital, he beat Etoile Sportive du Sahel in the 2004/05 final, before defeating another Tunisian side the following season, CS Sfaxien, to clinch back-to-back Champions League triumphs.
