Cameroon national team coach Marc Brys has been forced to address the official announcement that he had resigned from his position with the Indomitable Lions.

In a statement uploaded by the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) revealed that Brys resigned as the national team coach.

"By registered letter dated 21 July 2025, Mr Marc Brys notified the Cameroon Football Federation of his letter of resignation addressed to the Minister of Sports and Physical Education, effective immediately, from his position as coach of the Men's National Team," the federation said.

A report from Afrik Foot revealed that Brys allegedly resigned over salary disputes and delays. He handed in his resignation to the Ministry of Sports and claimed that there were numerous breaches of contractual obligations over alleged salary arrears of at least two months.

However, the Belgian coach revealed in a new statement that he did not submit his resignation and instead admitted that the alleged "resignation letter" was an email hack.

"I am writing to you today as a matter of urgency, after being informed of a letter, allegedly from me, sent via my personal email or social media, addressed to the Cameroon Football Federation, in which I allegedly present my resignation from my duties ass coach of the Cameroon National Team," he said.

Brys added: "I wish to categorically deny this information. I never wrote or sent any resignation letter. It appears, upon examination of the information I have, that my email account was most likely compromised."

The 63-year-old admitted his disappointment with Fecafoot that no one had bothered to contact him before releasing the statement to announce his departure. He hoped that a solution could be found to resolve the issues at hand.

"I take advantage of this correspondence to remind you that administrative difficulties still persist today surrounding my contract. I hope that a fair and rapid solution can be found to allow the technical staff to make Cameroon shin on the pitch," he concluded.
