Brazil continued their World Cup preparations with a 3-0 victory over Ghana in an international friendly on Friday evening.

International Friendly

Result: Brazil 3-0 Ghana

Date: 23 September 2022

Venue: Estadio Enrique Roca de Murcia

Tariq Lamptey and Inaki Williams were named on the bench, as the likes of Jordan and Andre Ayew and Mohammed Kudus were named in the line-up. Thomas Partey withdrew from the line-up after picking up an injury in training.

Selecao, meanwhile, handed a start to Casemiro in midfield alongside Lucas Paqueta, while Neymar played in the number 10 role behind the front three.

The Brazilians got off to the perfect start when defender Marquinhos opened the scoring on eight minutes after nodding home a corner from Raphinha.

It was one-way traffic in the first half as Tite's men went on to double their lead in the 27th minute, with Neymar playing in Richarlison who slotted into the far corner.

The third goal arrived for the South Americans five minutes before the break as Richarlison got his second on the night after heading home a cross from Neymar.

Ghana responded with a double change at the start of the second half, as Williams and Mohammed Salisu replaced Kamaldeen Sulemana and Felix Afena-Gyan for their debuts.

The Black Stars went close to pulling one back on 57 minutes when Kudus did well to pick out Ayew, who saw his header tipped onto the crossbar by Alisson Becker.

Brazil coach Tite made a triple change soon after as Antony, Fabinho and Matheus Cunha replaced Vinicius Junior, Richarlison and Casemiro for the final 30 minutes.

The South Americans nearly added a fourth goal with 15 minutes to go. Paqueta picked up the ball on the edge of the box and looked to pick out Raphinha but the ball evaded the Barcelona star.

In the end, Selecao were able to able hold for the clean sheet and have now won all four of the matches against the Ghanaians without conceding.
