Simba ran out convincing 5-1 winners over Pamba Jiji FC to officially secure a spot in next season's CAF Champions League and joined rivals Yanga SC as the two representatives from Tanzania, The Citizen reported.
Head coach Fadlu Davids was reportedly happy with the result and the performance and praised Pamba for their efforts, according to Pan-Africa Football.
"Pamba is a very good side, very aggressive and very physical, so it was very important for us to rotate positions," the South African said.
"It was good fight from Kapombe, playing from the inside number 10, we had Mpanzu playing wide, because we needed to create space, so it was good execution from the players,” he added.
The former Maritzburg United coach called on his team to come together ahead of their next league game.
"We need everybody ready to come and perform, that is what is needed at this stage of the season," the ex-Orlando Pirates boss said.
Despite closing the gap at the top to Yanga to four points with a game in hand, Davids said his focus was not on the league table.
"We are taking it game by game, it is gonna be game by game, we can’t be talking about the title when we still have a game in hand," the ex-Maritzburg United captain said.

"And we still have more matches to play, we just have to take it game by game, we are not looking at the table right now, it is just about getting the three points, and we put the best line-up with matches coming up thick and fast," Davids added.
