Aliou Cisse has reportedly overtaken the likes of Bafana Bafana's Hugo Broos and Morocco's Walid Regragui on the list of the highest-paid head coaches in Africa.

The 48-year-old is on the verge of signing a deal to become Libya's new national team boss. The former defensive midfielder has been out of football management for five months after the Senegalese Football Federation decided against keeping him on board, but he has been linked with a plethora of jobs in the meantime.
It seems, however, that he is now on course to lead the Mediterranean Knights, and it is being alleged that the Libyan Football Federation is offering him a lucrative deal. According to reports in Libya, as per Afrik Foot, the Ziguinchor native will earn a staggering €76,000 (R1.5 million) per month.
The aforementioned publication claims that he will now be the second-highest-paid national team coach on the continent, surpassing the likes of Broos, Regragui, and Emerse Fae.
It remains unclear what Hugo Broos' official earnings are but Sunday World report that the Belgian is earning a monthly salary in the region of R1.5 million.
The figure is said to be a far cry from what the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations-winning coach was earning during his time with the Senegalese national team, as the same report suggests that he was making €46,000 (R910 000) per month.

While he may now be among the best-compensated tacticians in Africa, Cissé is still a long way off the man who currently holds top spot—Vladimir Petkovic, the current Algerian national team head coach. He is understood to be making €135,000 (R2.6 million) monthly.
