With Percy Tau's contract at Al Ahly set to expire at the end of the season, the club's manager has reportedly made a massive request regarding the player's future.

According to Kooora, Marcel Koller has pleaded with the Club of the Century's chiefs to prioritise the contract extensions of the Bafana Bafana star and three other players.
The Witbank native did not enjoy the best of starts to his career with the record African champions after being plagued by injuries when Pitso Mosimane signed him for the team in 2021, but under the Swiss tactician, Tau has managed to elevate his game to the point where he was recently acknowledged as the best player in Africa when he won the 2023 CAF Men's Interclub Player of the Year prize.
It is said Koller also wants the contracts of Tunisia left-back Ali Maaloul, right-back Mohamed Hany and young star Ahmed Kouka to be extended in order to ensure that they continue fighting for titles.
The same report claims that negotiations over new deals for Tau and Maaloul specifically will take place after the conclusion of the Africa Cup of Nations, while the club has already reached a verbal agreement with Hany.

It is believed Ahly are also open to selling star defensive midfielder Aliou Dieng provided that the club receive a suitable offer for the Malian, with the 26-year-old having recently been linked with a move to Qatar.
