African football's newest club competition is set to begin in just under a month, and all the participating teams are gearing up to be crowned the contest's inaugural champions.

While the tournament is set to be the most lucrative in African club football, the Red Devils were still insisting on being compensated for the travel of the team.

The winner of the first-ever AFL is reportedly set to receive $4 million (R75.3 million), but the record African champions are insisting, according to Yalla Kora, that the Italian company that has been tasked with organising the tournament cover all their travel costs for games played outside of Egypt.

As per the aforementioned Egyptian publication, the company in question will provide regular tickets for the entire team, while covering the costs of the private flights that the club's board of directors will charter.

The 43-time domestic league champions have also requested that they stay for three nights, instead of the one night which was suggested, in any city that is not Cairo when playing.

"The Italian company will bear the responsibility of bringing back Ali Maaloul, who will be with his national team, Tunisia, in Japan, and his travel directly to Tanzania to join the Al Ahly delegation that will face Simba in the first leg of the tournament's eighth round on October 20," a source revealed to the Egyptian outlet.
