Cameroon remain in contention for a spot at the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers after thrashing Eswatini 3-0 at the Stade Omnisport Ahmadou Ahidjo on Thusday night.
The Indomitable Lions got off to the perfect start when Gift Gamedze deflected the ball into his own net after just six minutes.
The lead was doubled on 25 minutes when Bryan Mbeumo turned provider to pick out Georges-Kévin N'Koudou for the second goal, before Arthur Avom bagged the third goal three minutes later.
Cameroon remain second in Group D.
Mauritius 0-1 Cape Verde
Cape Verde edged closer to realising their World Cup dream after defeating Mauritius 2-0 on Thursday evening.
Jovane Cabral opened the scoring on 22 minutes for the visitors, before Diney Borges sealed the win in the 77th minute.
The Islanders now sit just one point ahead of Cameroon at the top of Group D, with the two nations facing off next week.
Algeria 3-1 Botswana
Algeria strengthened their grip on top spot in Group G with a 3-1 win over Botswana on Thursday night.
Mohamed Amoura bagged the opening goal for the home side on 33 minutes, before Tebogo Kopelang brought Botswana ten minutes later.
Botswana held on for quite a while until Algeria took over in the final 30 minutes when Baghdad Bounedjah bagged a brace to seal the win.
The North African giants sit top of the group, six points clear of second-place of Mozambique and nine clear of Botswana, who sit third.
Chad 1-1 Ghana
Ghana saw their lead at the top of Group I reduced after drawing 1-1 with Chad on Thursday afternoon.
The Black Stars opened the scoring after 17 minutes courtesy of a strike from Jordan Ayew, with Mohammed Kudus picking up the assist.
The visitors were minutes away from securing the win until Celestine Ecua popped up with the equaliser in the 89th minute for Chad, who claim their first point in the qualifiers.
Angola 0-1 Libya
Libya kept their slim hopes of qualifying for the World Cup alive with a 1-0 victory away to Angola on Thursday evening.
Ezoo El Mariamy got the only goal of the contest by firing past goalkeeper Luvumbo Zito in the 48th minute.
Libya remain in third spot, five points adrift of leaders Cape Verde while Angola find themselves in fourth spot.
