Themba Zwane is a highly talented footballer in his own right, and before moving to Mamelodi Sundowns, Zwane was the darling at Mpumalanga Black Aces. Former coach Clive Barker even labelled the winger as the next Doctor Khumalo while at the club.
Since his move, he failed to replicate the magic he produced at his former club, and now finds himself in an unfamiliar position of having to compete as a bench player.
Should he continue to be fringe player for Sundowns, it would only be natural to feel that his talent would be going to waste. Should Pirates monitor Zwane's situation with the possibility of signing him in the near future?
I think so, because he stands a much better chance at making the grade at Pirates than at Sundowns at the moment because of competition for places being so rife at the club.
Thabo Qalinge, like Zwane, is a prospect for the near future. The pair wreaked havoc during their time at Aces and should a team like Bucs sign Zwane, I believe the two players can form a deadly combination on the field.
Not only do they combine well on the field, but it's said that the pair are inseparable off it too.
Aces goalkeeper, Jackson Mabokgwane said in this week's edition of Soccer Laduma that Qalinge may be a good boy, but turns into a different person in the dressing room - particularly with Zwane.
"Qalinge is a good boy who likes to share jokes and just play around. He's always fun to be around. He and Themba Zwane formed a deadly combination in terms of creating fun in camp at Aces. They would be on the case of the other players all the time, ably assisted by Tshidiso Tukane. For example, they'd tease one of the players about having a slow car and stuff like that. What I like about 'Section' is that he's always positive in everything he does, whether it's on or off the field," Mabokgwane said.
With that said, should Bucs sign Zwane if the chance arises?
