Following the news that Edwin Gyimah and Orlando Pirates head coach Muhsin Ertugral had a bust-up at the airport earlier today, we decided to take a look at other bust-ups. Can you think of any others?
The quarrel was caught on camera while the Bucs players were in line at Cape Town International to check in their bags for the flight. However, this isn't the first time a fight has broken about between a player and a coach.
Tonight, we take a look at a few well-known fallouts.
Gora Ebrahim Vs Walter Rautmann
The Rabali Blackpool player lost his cool with coach Walter Rautmann after he was subbed, and he decided to express his anger by placing a Bruce Lee-style kick into the chest of his mentor. The Austrian later landed up in hospital with broken ribs.
Teko Modise Vs Ruud Krol
It is no secret that the Dutch coach was the main reason why Modise moved from Parktown to Chloorkop. The tricky midfielder fell short of game time and the two were consistently butting heads over the player's situation at the club.
Mabhuti Khenyeza Vs Muhsin Ertugral Clinton Larsen
Khenyeza and Ertugral had a very public spat during their time at Chiefs together, which resulted in the two parties splitting from each other. Khenyeza claimed that Muhsin had shouted at him and said something about his mother, and that is when the striker lashed back in what was quite a heated debate. Ironically, they later joined forces once again at Ajax Cape Town, where they seemed to have actually got along.
However, the Bucs tutor wasn't the only tactician the striker fell out with. Just last year, Khenyeza and Clinton Larsen exchanged words at Golden Arrows, and things turned sour quickly.
Kermit Erasmus Kamohelo Mokotjo Vs Shakes Mashaba
The Bafana Bafana head coach had also previously fallen out with both May Mahlangu and Benni McCarthy, while just last year, he had a spat with Kermit Erasmus after failing to call him up for national duty, despite his impressive form. Similarly, Kamohelo Mokotjo was forced into premature retirement from the national team after Mashaba made it clear that one of Mzansi's best talents weren't in his plans.
Abia Nale Vs Vladimir Vermezovic
During their time together at Kaizer Chiefs, Nale was left in actual tears on the bench after he had a spat with "VV". The player was subbed in the 54th minute in a match against Golden Arrows, before the Serbian coach lashed out at him about his ego.
There are many other examples that fit into this category. What do you make of the latest incident?
