This season, the ABSA Premiership welcomed the return of Steven Pienaar and Ayanda Patosi to the league, but they aren't the highest valued players in it. Can you guess who makes the list and edges them out?
For many years, Bernard Parker topped the list as the league's most valuable player, but now he is only able to sneak into the top 10 because Rivaldo Coetzee is on his way to Scottish giants Celtic.
Conversely, last season saw Anele Ngcongca and Kagisho Dikgacoi make their way back to Mzansi, and their return to the league meant that they were two of the highest valued players in it, alongside Khama Billiat. However, limited game time and injuries for both players saw their net worths plummet.
The same has happened for Pienaar. The midfielder use to be valued at €11 million (R110 million), but since injuries impacted the amount of game time he has received in recent years, and his return to South Africa, his value has dropped somewhat.
"Schillo" is now said to be worth R15 million, but that only makes him the joint second most valuable South African in the league, with a foreigner and Ngcongca edging him out in the top 10 standings.
