Tefu Mashamaite stole the show at the Absa Premiership awards yesterday, coining in a colossal R450 000 as mentioned earlier today, but how does it compare to salaries in South Africa?
It is no secret that the coaches in the league tend to earn more than the players, with Pitso Mosimane reportedly the biggest earner with an income of R600 000 a month at Mamelodi Sundowns.
In one night, Masha earned over half of what Pitso reportedly comes out with in a month, while it is said that Stuart Baxter and Gavin Hunt are earning close to the figure Tefu deposited in prize money.
Elias Pelembe is reportedly the highest earner in the league, raking in an impressive R430 000 each month, while most of the top earners at Sundowns walk away with R3 million each year.
If Pelembe's figures are correct, then Tefu Mashamaite would've earned his full salary in the space of one evening and three awards received. Let's not forget, Benni McCarthy was also reportedly earning R450 000 when at Pirates…
This is an incredibly achievement from a player, who hasn't extended with Chiefs because of reported salary issues. Well, his bank account certainly received a major bump up last night.
What do you think of Tefu's achievements?
