On Saturday, people all over the world will be celebrating Halloween, and in the spirit of it all, we thought it would be appropriate for us to pick five players who we thought were the scariest to ever play the game.

The Italian midfielder was a total nutcase on the field and always found himself in some sort of trouble.

The former Man United and Lazio centre back gave many forwards the heebie-jeebies on the field. He was an absolute bull on the ball and was one player you didn't want to mess with.

The former Bayern Munich and Germany goalkeeper had a face nobody will ever forget in the world of football. He may have been a crazy goalkeeper, but, on his day, he was a brilliant shot-stopper too.

The second Italian psycho to appear on our list, Di Canio's football career was filled with controversy and it seemed like he wanted to rip somebody's head off whenever he took to the pitch.
