Can Ronaldo Break His Anfield Curse?

Can Ronaldo Break His Anfield Curse?

Tonight, we play against Liverpool, and the return to Anfield will be an especially significant game for our star player, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo has not scored at Anfield in his last five visits to Liverpool's iconic stadium. However, the last time he played in Anfield was back in 2007/08, when Manchester United beat Liverpool 1-0 courtesy of a Carlos Tevez goal.

He was injured in his side's trip to Liverpool in his final season with the Red Devils and set up John O'Shea for the winner in the 2006/07 game. The season before, the match between United and Liverpool ended goalless, and in his first appearance at Anfield, Ronaldo set-up Rooney for another winner in the match that ended 1-0 in 2004/05.

This means that Ronaldo's Anfield record is as follows: five games played, three wins, one draw and one defeat (2005/06 FA Cup). However, he has not scored a single goal, which seems absurd…

In Cristiano's defence, these games were all over five years ago and he was playing with a different team. He's twice the player he was in his last game at Anfield, and the "curse" is not a cause for concern, as far as I can tell.

I have no doubt that Ronaldo will be setting Anfield alight with his performance tonight, and surely he will score his first goal at Anfield and his 70th in the Champions League.

Do you think Ronaldo will struggle to score at Anfield tonight?
