The story

Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos has revealed his final squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Benin later this month.

South Africa will face their neighbours, Lesotho, at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Friday, 21 March. Broos' troops will then travel by chartered flight to Ivory Coast to take on Benin on Tuesday, 25 March 2025.

A week ago, Broos named a 37-player preliminary squad and on Thursday, it was reduced to the final 23 players during a selection announcement at the SABC television studios in Auckland Park.

Qatar-based Percy Tau makes his return to the Bafana Bafana squad, alongside Stellenbosch FC defenders Thabo Moloisane and Fawaaz Basadien, who are also included. Their former club teammate and Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder, Jayden Adams earned a recall.

Bafana coach Hugo Broos has also called up Sundowns' captain and goalkeeper, Ronwen Williams, following his return from injury in Wednesday's Betway Premiership match against AmaZulu.

TS Galaxy's Khulumani Ndamane narrowly missed out on selection, with experienced defender Grant Kekana replacing him in the squad due to Ndamane not having his passport.

Here's what the supporters had to say about the squad for this month's World Cup qualifiers:
