The story

Jose Riveiro's Orlando Pirates claimed a 3-1 win over Richards Bay in an enthralling Nedbank Cup Last 32 encounter at a sold out King Zwelithini Stadium in Umlazi, Durban on Sunday afternoon.

The win kept the Buccaneers' Nedbank Cup defence on track, as they progressed to the Round of 16 with Patrick Maswanganyi's brace and the third goal coming from Tshegofatso Mabasa sealing the victory.

This victory comes just a week after their remarkable 1-0 victory over Egyptian powerhouse Al Ahly in Cairo in the CAF Champions League, where they've topped Group C.

In the Betway Premiership, Pirates have also been in formidable form and trail leaders and defending champions, Mamelodi Sundowns by six points, with a game in hand.

With four cup trophies under his belt, it comes as no surprise that Riveiro has endeared himself to the Happy People, both young and old.

Shortly after embracing the joyous support in the stands at the end of the game, Riveiro was greeted by a small group of young Bucs fans down the tunnel.
