On Saturday, Kaizer Chiefs experienced a setback as they surrendered two valuable points by drawing 2-2 with Royal AM after leading by two goals.

Insiders at the club have indicated that the mood within the team has been notably downcast since the match.

Despite the disappointment, players and the technical team have been collaborating effectively throughout the week, analyzing mistakes and strategizing on how to improve.

"The mood has not been good as you could imagine. Of course we could have expected it to be like that as no one wants to lose (or draw in such a way) but this time it was really sour. I think this draw to the team was the worst and that's why everyone at the club was not happy. Even the players themselves had a meeting in the dressing room for a long time after the game because they could not digest what had happened on that day. But with each passing day the mood is improving and they are looking forward to the next game," the Siya source stated.

A second insider stated that training intensity has remained consistent, without any harsh reaction from the club to the disappointing result.

"No. The training has not been harder. It's the normal training. Obviously there will be some changes after watching the game again and seeing how they threw away the two points. That will be given special attention but not necessarily harsh at all. They know players are human beings are they are bound to make mistakes and that's why they have been working on those identified mistakes so that they should not be repeated but not in a harsh way," the second source stated.

Chiefs are set to play their next match at the same Peter Mokaba Stadium, where they had drawn with Royal AM. This time, they face Polokwane City on Sunday afternoon.

The team aims to change their fortunes and improve their standing in the Betway Premiership.

As Chiefs prepare for their upcoming fixture, the focus will be on translating reflections and corrections into effective performance on the pitch. With a renewed mindset and determination, the team is hopeful of positively altering their course in the league standings.
