Ex-City left-back Benjamin Mendy is taking the Premier League giants to an employment tribunal over apparent unpaid wages following his suspension in 2021.
The former Monaco fullback, who has been capped on 10 occasions for France, was charged by authorities in England over several counts of rape and one alleged sexual assault two years ago.
In July this year, though, the 29-year-old was cleared of all charges before restarting his football career at Ligue 1 club Lorient, whom he has since played just three matches for so far this season.
The defender and his lawyers are now set to challenge the past campaign's treble champions over the wages they claim he was not paid while suspended by the club, as reported by Manchester Evening News.
"Nick De Marco KC (instructed by Laffer Abogados (Madrid) is acting for the former Manchester City player Benjamin Mendy in a multi-million-pound claim for unauthorised deductions from wages," a statement read.
"Manchester City FC failed to pay Mr Mendy any wages at all from September 2021, following Mr Mendy being charged with various offence all of which he was subsequently acquitted of, until the end of his contract in June 2023. The claim will come before an Employment Tribunal."

Mendy joined City in 2017 in a big-money move from Monaco, and made 75 appearances for the English club before his final appearance two years ago.
