Victor Osimhen has spoken for the first time since his club Napoli appeared to mock their superstar striker in a controversial TikTok post.

The Serie A champions caused a stir last week when they seemingly taunted their talisman for appealing for, and then missing, a penalty in their recent 2-2 draw with Bologna.
The club came under tremendous scrutiny after that post, which was later deleted, and have consequently decided to part ways with social media executive Alessio Fortino as a result.
However, despite all the drama, Osimhen has now come to the defence of the club and the people of Naples.
"Coming to the City of Naples in 2020 was a wonderful decision for me," the 24-year-old wrote in a post on his official Instagram account.
"The People of Napoli have shown me so much love and kindness, and I will not allow anyone to come between us.
"The passion of the People of Naples fuels my fire to always play with my heart and soul, and the love for the badge is unwavering as I wear it with pride. The accusations against People of Naples are untrue.
"I have a lot of friends that are Napolitans and have become part of my family and everyday life. I appreciate Nigerians and everyone for leading their voices to support and reach out to me. I'm forever grateful. Let's support unity, respect and understanding. FORZA NAPOLI SEMPRE."

All the commotion surrounding the Lagos native has seemingly not deterred him from performing, though, as he continued his rich vein of form in Serie A by slotting in his fifth goal of the season against Lecce this past weekend.
