Surprising Sirino Development At Sundowns

Surprising Sirino Development At Sundowns

As previously reported by the Siya crew, Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Gaston Sirino is understood to be unhappy to be at the club.

Brazilians coach Rulani Mokwena has previously hinted that they won't keep unhappy players, and the spirit in the camp is important to a team fighting on all fronts for trophies.

Siya sources at Chloorkop have now indicated that the two parties may be involved in settlement talks, with the player still having two years remaining on his contract.

Different sources have noted how the club is expected to want to have clarity on this matter as soon as possible.

"For now, it's clear both parties want to cut ties. It's just a matter of agreeing on the settlement," said the Siya source.

"You know he still has two years remaining so he won't leave as a free agent if there is no settlement. As he wants to leave then it could be him who could end up compromising in the whole situation.

"The team has nothing much to lose in that case but if the club takes the decision to release him then they have to pay him for the remainder of the two years.

"Those are the talks that are currently going on. The team wants to deal with this in the best way possible and put it behind them as soon as possible," the source told the Siya crew.

Another Siya source at the club has indicated that they may be waiting for offers from team's either for a loan or permanent move but there is nothing concrete at the moment.

"The unfortunate part is that all those reports are in the media. There is nothing that has come to the team at this moment," said the other Siya source.

"Yes, the team would like to see him play somewhere and the player himself also wants to go to a team where he will play but there is money involved here and it won't just happen overnight.

"But with apparently the talks going on, something will happen sooner than people expect. If there were offers it could have been much easier and faster," the source told Soccer Laduma.

Soccer Laduma contacted Sundowns for a comment but there was no response while this story was prepared.
