Lukaku Set For Shock EPL Switch?

Lukaku Set For Shock EPL Switch?

With Romelu Lukaku being transfer-listed by Chelsea this off-season, the Belgian attacker could reportedly make a shock move to one of their direct rivals.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Antwerp native is among the strikers Tottenham Hotspur are considering replacing Harry Kane with in north London.

The Englishman is understood to be edging ever closer to completing a move to Bayern Munich, and the Lilywhites are seemingly making contingency plans for their all-time top goalscorer's exit and Lukaku is one of the names being seriously considered.

The 30-year-old is believed to have recently returned to training at Cobham, but Blues manager Mauricio Pochettino has not integrated him with the first-team squad as the club look to find a resolution for the attacker.

For most of the off-season, the striker was tipped to make a major move back to Italy, but after Inter Milan withdrew their interest and with Juventus struggling to come to an agreement with Chelsea on a transfer fee, the marksman's options seem to be waning.

While Spurs and Chelsea are rivals, the same report claims that neither side would be completely against finding an agreement over Lukaku as the two-time European champions are keen to recoup some funds from a sale, while the idea of having a proven Premier League goalscorer join after a Kane departure appeals to chiefs at the Lilywhites.

FC Porto's Mehdi Taremi and young Nigerian star Gift Orban are some of the other attacking names being floated as potential incomings at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
