High-Flying Pirates Conclude Pre-season Unbeaten

High-flying Orlando Pirates have concluded their pre-season preparations unbeaten after playing a series of friendly matches in South Africa and overseas.

The Buccaneers drew 0-0 with SuperSport United on Saturday, while the match against Moroka Swallows ended in a 3-1 victory for coach Jose Riveiro's side, with both fixtures taking place at Orlando Stadium on the same day.

"The team's determination to end the pre-season on a high note was evident, as they unleashed an impressive display of football. The Mighty Buccaneers emerged victorious with a commanding 3-1 scoreline, with goals coming courtesy of Kabelo Dlamini, who netted a brace, and the young Relebohile Ratomo netting, what was his second goal of the pre-season," Pirates confirmed on the club's official website.

"The match against the Dube Birds, brings the 2023/24 pre-season schedule to a close. Orlando Pirates engaged in a total of seven friendly matches, providing head coach Jose Riveiro and his technical team, valuable opportunities to fine-tune their strategies ahead of the start of the new season. With these games now behind them, Orlando Pirates is primed and ready for the commencement of the 2023/24 DStv Premiership campaign which kicks off with a tough away encounter against Stellenbosch FC on August 5," the club stated.
