Reports suggest that former Chelsea defender Kalidou Koulibaly will earn €30 million (R609 million) a year at Al Hilal following a one-year stint in England.

The Senegalese was once among the most coveted centre-backs in Europe, but battled to continue the form he showed at Napoli at Stamford Bridge, before deciding to take his career to the big-spending Saudi Pro League.

Koulibaly, 32, has now admitted to being attracted by the financial benefits of going to the Gulf country, saying he will be able to take care of his entire family with the money he earns.

"I can't deny it, I'm going to Arabia for the money," he said, according Corriere dello Sport.

"I will be able to help my whole family to live well, from my parents to my cousins.

"I will be able to invest in the activities of my charity Capitane du Coeur in Senegal. We started to build a clinic in the village where my parents were born and raised, I have many projects to help young people.

"I am a Muslim, I am coming to a country that is ideal for me and my family. Mecca is close, I will feel better because I am a believer, so it is important for me."
