The club has confirmed that back-up goalkeeper Sergio Rico is in hospital in Spain after suffering an injury to his head while horse-riding on Sunday.

Rico was on PSG's bench for their 1-1 away draw with Strasbourg on Saturday, a result that secured the team's latest Ligue 1 title win.

A spokesperson for the club reportedly told BBC News on Sunday that the 29-year-old is "in a serious condition", while the club said in a statement on Twitter that they "learned of the accident involving its player Sergio Rico on Sunday and remains in constant contact with his loved ones. The entire Red and Blue community offers them its full support."

The shot-stopper was said to be riding a horse in Spain when he collided with a runaway horse, with it being reported that he was taken to hospital in a helicopter after suffering a head trauma.
