While the goal sealed the title for PSG, it also saw Messi above Ronaldo in the European scoring charts with 496 goals.

While winning his second Ligue 1 title, Messi also moved level with former teammate Dani Alves as the player with the most trophies (43) in football history.

The Argentine has registered 21 goals and 20 assists across all competitions for PSG this and coach Christophe Galtier says the Argentine has had a good season.

"Leo has been irreproachable throughout the season in his effort in training. Leo is football. It's true. I have seen it every day in training, I've also seen it in our matches," Galtier said, as per L'Equipe.

"This year, he has great statistics. It is already much, much better than last season. I think Leo has had a very good season with PSG, but people still expect a lot more from him."
