Zwane Praises Returning Chiefs Star After Derby Win

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Arthur Zwane hailed the return of Edmilson Dove following their Soweto Derby triumph over Orlando Pirates.

The Amakhosi claimed their fifth successive win in the Soweto Derby after Olisa Ndah's late own goal secured a 1-0 win at FNB Stadium.

"Ja, look it was very important for us to get three points today, though this is one game I felt we gave them too much respect in the first 15 minutes," Zwane told SuperSport after the game.

"We looked like whenever we were applying a little bit of pressure on them, more especially waiting for [Miguel] Timm and [Ndabayithethwa] Ndlondlo to receive the ball because we set pressing traps in the middle.

"I think we could have done better and we were back in the game but the problem was we were losing every second ball, regain possession and then we did not take care of the ball," he said.

"Then we started playing in patches but we were always going to be difficult at some point when it comes to transition because obviously we wanted them to come with the ball, once they move with the ball forward we'll get those spaces.

"It worked, I think we created three, four chances if I'm not mistaken."

Dove was named Man of the Match on his return to the side and Zwane feels his presence would have made a difference last week.

"Like I said we are always in that situation where we lose key players every game and this is what you saw today. I believe had Dove been available in the previous game it could have been a different story altogether because we did not allow any space in front and in behind," he added

"So ja that was the difference between this game and that game loss to Golden Arrows) in terms of managing the space."
