An Orlando Pirates e sports star is edging ever closer to a place in the FIFA 23 Global Series Playoffs after winning the second African qualifier.
Aasim Lamara walked away with over $3k for his efforts and this major win could see him compete among the world's most prominent gamers.

African gaming champion
Aasim Lamara is on top of the continent after securing the FIFA 23 Global series African qualifier crown.
As the winner, the Pirates gamer is $3 500 (Almost R64k) richer after winning the final 9-2 against Egypt's HugeBody.
Lamara competed against 50 other gamers in the qualifier that had a $4 500 prize pool and with this amazing win, the young FIFA 23 king edges closer to the Globel Series Playoffs.
As mentioned by EA Sports, the FIFA 23 Global Series Playoffs will feature the best 64 players from across the world and the Playoffs will award players a portion of the $300 000 (Over R5.4 million) prize pool as they progress through the tournament.

The Global Series Playoffs will feature 24 players who will qualify for the FIFAe World Cup. The 64 players will compete until 24 players are remaining, at that point, the play will stop and the FIFAe World Cup participants will be finalised.
