Result: Leeds United 0-2 Manchester United

Venue: Elland Road

Erik ten Hag made three changes from the 2-2 draw on Wednesday, as Harry Maguire, Tyrell Malacia and Jadon Sancho started in place of Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez and Alejandro Garnacho.

Leeds got off to a fast start during the week and they nearly got an early once again but Crysencio Summerville blazed over the crossbar from six yards out at the far post.

The visitors registered their first meaningful chance on 19 minutes when Sancho broke the down the wing before teeing up Bruno Fernandes, who dragged his effort wide of the mark.

Leeds had a chance to get the opening goal on 40 minutes when Summerville got past Malacia to get into the box, but he was unable to bundle the ball over the line.

The Red Devils should have taken the lead on the stroke of halftime when Fernandes pounced on error and raced clear on goal, but he was denied by Illan Meslier's foot.

Erik ten Hag was the first to alter his side ten minutes into the second half, with Sancho and Malacia withdrawn for Garnacho and

It was more of the same in the second half, but the Red Devils went agonisingly close on 62 minutes when Diogo Dalot was given space on the edge of the box and rattled the crossbar.

Leeds nearly went ahead on 78 minutes when a clearance deflected into the path of Summerville, who saw his low strike turned away by David de Gea.

Two minutes later, the visitors would go on to take the lead as Luke Shaw did well to pick out Rashford, who sent a powerful header into the far corner.

The win was sealed with five minutes to play as Garnacho collected a pass from Wout Weghorst before racing to clear to slot home at the near post.
