Following Njabulo Blom's move to the US, Soccer Laduma looks at players who have left Kaizer Chiefs for an overseas move during the PSL era, either as a free agent or sold by the club.
Blom has signed for St Louis City in Major League Soccer and joins a long list of players who left Amakhosi for an overseas move. Arguably the biggest move for a Chiefs player to go abroad was that of Siyabonga Nomvethe, who left the Soweto giants in 2001 to join Italian Serie A club, Udinese.

Collins Mbesuma's move to Portsmouth in the the English Premier League to sign for Portsmouth in 2005.
Pollen Ndlanya, one of Amakhosi's deadly strikers during the PSL era, went to Turkey from Chiefs in the late 90s.
Stanton Fredericks made a move to FC Moscow in Russia in 2004 after a successful spell with Amakhosi.
There were a few Chiefs players who left Naturena for the German Bundesliga. Bradley Carnell, Siyabonga Nkosi and Ronwen Fernandez made moves to the Bundesliga. Carnell, Nkosi and Fernandez joined Arminia Bielefeld, while Carnell signed for VfB Stuttgart in 1998.
Jabu Mahlangu (formerly Pule) made a move to Austria with coach Muhsin Ertugral in 2005 at SV Mattersburg. Kabamba Musasa left Amakhosi in 2005 for Turkey, before returning to the PSL to join Maritzburg United and later Mpumalanga Black Aces.
Zimbabwean players Onismor Bhasera and Knowledge Musona went abroad after playing for Amakhosi, making moves to England and Germany respectively, while Ugandan David Obua made a move to Hearts in the Scottish Premier League in 2008.
Big Ivorian striker Serge Djiehoua left for Turkey after a brief loan spell with Thanda Royal Zulu in 2008 and, a year later, Ghanaian Jonathan Quartey made a move to Nice in France.

In the last 10 years, Amakhosi have had Siphiwe Tshabalala, Mandla Masango, Tefu Mashamaite, Matthew Rusike, Teenage Hadebe, Lincoln Zvasiya, Pule Ekstein leaving the club to make moves abroad. Zvasiya made a loan move to OFI Crete in Greece before returning to the country.
