Maritzburg United are set to announce a new coach and the man who is understood to have been a favourite for management, is a familiar face at the club.

It's understood that Davids has been the frontrunner for the job and management is convinced that he can save the club from relegation, due to his knowledge of the culture and generally how things work there. Fadlu has served in different roles at Maritzburg - as a player, assistant coach and head coach, and is now expected to return for another spell as the main man on the technical team.

Davids has gained loads of experience since leaving the Team of Choice in 2018 to join Soweto giants, Orlando Pirates. While he was with the Buccaneers, Davids travelled the continent playing in CAF competitions and was co-coach with Mandla Ncikazi as they led the Sea Robbers to the Confederation Cup final earlier this year.
