Thiago Silva 'Gives Ultimatum' to Chelsea

Thiago Silva 'Gives Ultimatum' to Chelsea

Having played a starring role since his arrival at Chelsea two years ago, Thiago Silva has now seemingly given the club an ultimatum regarding his future.

Barca To Sign Chelsea Duo?

Since arriving at Stamford Bridge, the Brazilian has endeared himself to the Chelsea faithful with consistently impressive performances for the Blues.

The 38-year-old has got his hands on the UEFA Champions League and FIFA Club World Cup trophies since joining the club, but with his deal expiring at the end of this season, the 2019 Copa America winner wants the club's hierarchy to clarify their stance on his future.

"For sure, there will be a time when we need to talk, it could be before the World Cup or after the World Cup because I need to know whether I will have a new contract with Chelsea for my family arrangements," Silva said in a pre-match press conference, as per the Daily Mirror.

"If I don't have a new contract, I will have to decide what to do.

"For my family, it's an important decision. We will see what happens."

Silva made his name at AC Milan, whom Chelsea will face in Europe's premier club competition on Tuesday night, and it will be the first time he returns to the home of the Rossoneri since he left the club a decade ago.

Asked if a move back to the San Siro could be on the cards, the Brazil international said it was unlikely he would do so as a player, but might return in a different capacity.

'Neymar Is A Real Crybaby'

"I have already made my history here at AC Milan, so this isn't the case here anymore at the moment," Silva added.

"If this could've happened, it should've been before I joined Chelsea.

"But I don't know about the future, who knows what will happen. We will have to think then.

"I am very happy to be at Chelsea, a very big club, great professionals.

"In the future we will see, maybe [I will go back to Milan] as the coach. Who knows?"
