Akpeyi has been linked with different clubs, including Sekhukhune United and Swallows FC, although sources have now indicated that Chippa United could be his destination.

Chippa is expected to bolster the goalkeeping department after losing Sipho Chaine who has been signed by Orlando Pirates.

Earlier indications had been that Lloyd Kazapua would be the keeper moving to the Buccaneers from the Chilli Boys, although it has since been confirmed by the Soweto giants that Chaine has joined on a three-year deal.

The 36-year-old has been training on his own under the watchful eye of goalkeeping legend and countryman Greg Etafia, although he was recently spotted in training at Swallows prior to Dylan Kerr's removal as the club's head coach.
