The South African Football Association confirmed the latest following today's meeting with the Joint Liaison Committee made up of representatives from both SAFA and the National Soccer League.
The Premier Soccer League Executive Committee met last week Thursday and Friday, to determine the way forward for the 2019/20 season, more especially on how football can resume behind closed doors while adhering to the health and safety regulations.
Following the meeting, SAFA confirmed to the Siya crew that they had received a proposal from the Exco and as a result would meet this afternoon.
The association has since confirmed the outcome of today's meeting of the JLC.
"The Joint Liaison Committee (JLC), made up of representatives of both the South African Football Association (SAFA) and the National Soccer League (NSL), met today to check the possibility of starting with the NSL matches."
"They looked at both proposals from the NSL and SAFA, which had to deal mostly with health issues and the safe resumption of the game."
"The purpose of the meeting was also to develop and present a one-voice policy for football in the country. After the deliberations, the committee resolved as follows:
Form a task team comprising of Advocate Tebogo Motlanthe (SAFA Acting CEO); Mato Madlala (PSL Acting CEO); Dr Thulani Ngwenya (SAFA Chief Medical Officer); Dr Lervasen Pillay (PSL Head of Medical); Poobalan Govindasamy (SAFA NEC) and Jose Ferreira (PSL Executive Committee Member), to look at the concerns which were raised in the meeting and prepare a submission to the committee, which will later be submitted to Government for consideration, and the Task Team has been given a maximum of 14 days to complete the document and report back to the Joint Liaison Committee," SAFA stated.
