With Kaizer Chiefs youngsters such as Mfundo Vilakazi's performances dropping, club legend Nelson 'Teenage' Dladla has explained why.
Vilakazi was one of Chiefs' shining light early in the season, especially after the injury of Gaston Sirino, lifting the team with his guile and ability on the ball coming off the bench.
'OB' joined the likes of Mduduzi Shabalala and Wandile Duba, who were also buzzing for Nasreddine Nabi's charges.

However, Vilakazi has not been making the impact he had in the early stages off the bench lately and according to Dladla, the Tunisian coach could have killed his morale, when the left-footed attacker had good performances off the bench and not start him in the next encounter.
"When Mfundo is introduced as a substitute and he (does) wonders and he was a threat whenever he had the ball, such a player the following game you start with the player," Dladla said on Inside SA Soccer podcast.

"Don't let him sit on the bench, he proved to you that he's dangerous, whenever he's in possession of the ball he's giving the opponent trouble, then the following game play him! Start with him, if he's struggling, then you can substitute him.
"If you're bringing him and say the team is 1-0 down, then you're putting him under pressure, he shouldn't come in when things are tough for the team. That's why most coaches would say 'Go out there and enjoy yourself' but if he's not enjoying himself, he's scared, he won't perform at his best," Dladla suggested.
Chiefs' attacking options have also been bolstered by the signing of Makabi Lilepo and Tashreeq Morris and the return from injury of Gaston Sirino, with the 19-year-old falling a little behind in the pecking order.
