Supabets: South American Rivalry Action Heats Up!

Supabets: South American Rivalry Action Heats Up!

Uruguay face off against Brazil on Thursday, March 23. The rivalry between these two countries has been brewing over the years and today it will be no different. Both these sides will come into the encounter seeking for a win, however Uruguay will be hoping to take advantage of playing in front of their home crowd.

Argentina face off against Chile. As the Argentines seek revenge in this match, Chile will be putting their guards up, however Lionel Messi's team have a better win record at present.

On Saturday, March 25, South Africa battle out against Guinea-Bissau. Bafana Bafana go into the encounter the better side in terms of recent form, however Guinea will be out to salvage a win in South Africa.

Uruguay v Brazil (International friendly)

FIFA rankings: Uruguay 9th Brazil 2nd

Useful facts: Another huge rivalry. This game is likely to end in a draw, with neither team taking home the spoils in five of their last 12 meetings. It will be interesting to see Barcelona teammates Luis Suarez and Neymar go head-to-head in a scenario that favours Brazil, who have won21 friendlies on the trot.

Zebulon Nhlapho: Uruguay

Argentina v Chile (International friendly)

FIFA rankings: Argentina 1st Chile 4th

Useful facts: This will be a repeat of the last two Copa America finals and Lionel Messi will be out for revenge, as it was the loss in June last year that saw him announce his international retirement (a decision that he later reversed). But Argentina have won nine of their last 16 against Chile and are undefeated in their last five friendlies, winning the last four of those. So it will be hard to see Messi not getting his vengeance on the night.

Zebulon Nhlapho: Eish… Argentina is going to win.

South Africa v Guinea-Bissau (International friendly)

FIFA rankings: South Africa 62nd Guinea Bissau 78th

Useful facts: With no historical precedent to speak of, Bafana are heading into unchartered territory, but will be happy to know that they haven't lost a game since October 2015, whilst Guinea-Bissau's last defeat came as recently as January this year.

Zebulon Nhlapho: Bafana to win. All of the youngsters are going to perform.
