An upcoming South African coach has been appointed in a new role outside of Mzansi as he looks to further his career.
Known for his expertise as a fitness trainer, and having previously worked with numerous top-flight clubs in Mzansi including Chippa United, Free State Stars, as well as the South African national women's football team, Riodoh Berdien has been appointed as assistant coach of Tanzanian club Young Africans, where he has reunited with Belgian coach Luc Eymael, whom he previously worked with at Ea Lla Koto.
Rasthoem Simons of SimSport International – the representatives of Berdien, confirmed the latest developments.
"We had been negotiating since last week and then he (Berdien) flew up yesterday (Sunday). So, he is in Tanzania," confirmed Simons.
"Obviously, he (Berdien) is quite experienced in international football and he's worked previously with Luc at Free State Stars, and Luc has obviously been impressed with his capabilities and is assessing him in a higher capacity (as assistant coach) as well," the representative told the Siya crew.
Berdien has previously also worked in Trinidad and Tobago as well as Bangladesh in some of his other roles in the past.
Berdien will still be available to work with Banyana Banyana during the international breaks.
