The South African Football Association has confirmed that it has extended its broadcasting deal with TV newcomers Siyaya TV which will now run for 10 years.
Last year the South African football mother body announced its R1Bllion partnership with Siyaya which will see the new broadcaster own the the rights to broadcast all Bafana Bafana and Banyana Banyana matches, including friendlies, as well as games involving all the junior national teams, the ABC Motsepe League (First Division), Sasol Women's League, the Safa Magazine Programme (Safa TV) and the annual Safa Awards.
The announcement comes on the backdrop of SAFA announcing a three year deal with the national broadcaster SABC to broadcast all the games of the South African National teams.
"We value the commitment and support from SIYAYA over the past year and we look forward to the innovations that SIYAYA brings to the table in making the beautiful game accessible to the Rainbow Nation as we together journey onwards," stated SAFA Chief Executive Officer Dennis Mumble in an official statement from SAFA.
"As a game changer, the extension affords SIYAYATV the space to advance the offering with digitalised innovation and partnerships that benefit the customer. For us football is always about people, access, quality and affordability," further explains SIYAYA Chair, Dr Vuyo Mahlati.
